Influence of Natural Zeolite and Mineral additive on Bacterial Self-healing Concrete: A Review

چکیده

With time, the development of micro-cracks in concrete is a frequently reported problem structures due to ingress harmful substances, leading degradation its quality and strength, which ultimately declines construction. The present work review paper based on enhancing self-healing property by inducing different bacteria alone or incorporating mineral additives. It has been seen that various rehabilitated methodologies are queue surmount concrete’s weaknesses increase strength durability. latest methodology includes using non-pathogenic microbes as Microbial induced Calcium Carbonate Precipitation (MICCP). precipitating calcium carbonate (CaCO3) crystals their metabolic activities helps repair cracks harsh conditions improve strength. Ureolytic like Bacillus pasteurii/Sporosarcina pasteurii, subtilis, megaterium, etc., have specific they can excite urea when integrated with source help sealing CaCO3 precipitation. Different studies observed specimens having bacterial concentration 105-107 cells/ml Natural Zeolite (NZ) replacement (10%) represents better interaction microstructure because formation silicate hydrate (CSH) gel. Further, reduction CH bond reduced pore space also observed. NZ enhances micro-structural property, but it shows CaCo3 precipitation more densification under combination. XRD confirms an calcite composition used. overall properties standard high-strength (105-107 cells/ml) 10% provide option for future sustained strong concrete. Modeling of Self-Healing Concrete: A Review

Self-healing concrete (SHC) has received a tremendous attention due to its advanced ability of automatic crack detection and crack repairing compared to the standard concrete. Two main approaches which considered as to-date self-healing mechanisms are autogenous and autonomous healing. In the past several years, the effort of the research has been focused on experimental works instead of numeri...

Behaviour of Bacterial Concrete as Self Healing Material

The major problem the construction industry concurs with is the high maintenance cost of the concrete. Various natural processes such as weathering, faults, land subsidence, earthquake, changes in moisture and temperature, have the tendency to create cracks in concrete. Therefore, to counter these effects, it has become necessary to come up with ways which will not only help in counteracting bu...

Evaluation of Influence of Zeolite/Collagen Nanocomposite (ZC) and Hydroxyapatite (HA) on Bone Healing: A Study on Rabbits

Bone healing is still a great challenge in orthopedic surgery and clinical practice. There is a dearth of research investigating the effect of Zeolite/Collagen (ZC) nanocomposite on bone regeneration. In the present study, a critical segmental defect of the rabbit femur was repaired using defects in femurs repaired by ZC nanocomposite, and the effects were examined histologically. In total, 45 ...

Self-healing concrete with a microencapsulated healing agent

We have developed a concrete material exhibiting self-healing properties and corrosion inhibition. This system involves a sodium silicate solution stored in polyurethane microcapsules present in the concrete matrix. The sodium silicate, released when the capsules are ruptured by propagating cracks, reacts with the calcium hydroxide in cement and produces a C-S-H gel that partially heals the cra...
